What themes run throughout your work? I like addressing emotional issues, and also the themes of divine redemption and hope.
How do you hope your work will affect its audience? I hope to elicit an emotional response, to feel that someone has identified with the feelings I am trying to convey – the greatest compliment I`ve ever gotten was when someone was moved to tears.
What makes you decide to create your work? The sense of fulfillment and satisfaction you get when you translate what is inside into something external and visual.
Where do your talents lie? Being in touch with my inner world.
What successes have you had so far? Being able to pursue what I love, although that`s more of a gift than a success.
Has anyone taught you how to use your talent better? My teachers and mentors in high school and college.
What inspires you? Life! People! Anything and everything!
Who inspires you? Gustav Klimt, Mordechai Ardon, Colin Thompson… to name but a few.
What do you do when you are suffering from creative block? I write in my journal, or get out and do something else.
What are you trying to achieve? I`m trying to use my skills to enhance both my life and the life of others who will be moved by the content of my work… I`m trying to convey that there is hope and beauty amid suffering, always, and that it ultimately strengthens us.
Do you collaborate? I would.
Ignoring money and all of life’s woes, what would you want to be? A painter and illustrator.
Accepting the need for money and all of life’s woes, what do you want to be? A painter and illustrator.
What’s the most amazing thing you’ve ever seen / heard / experienced? Living in Jerusalem has been an ongoing, unforgettable experience.
What do you consider to be the most important thing in life? Being connected.
Who/what is your nemesis and why? My evil inclination - the little guy who sits on my shoulder and tells me to procrastinate (and do other unspeakable things).
Artist Statement: I see myself as both an illustrator and a fine artist. I`m also into making crafts. I`m very grateful for having art as one of the greatest avenues for expression.
