What themes run throughout your work? Distortion as a device to provide a gothic vibe

How do you hope your work will affect its audience? I'd like the distortion to force people to look closer and evaluate distortions in the daily world. Bad google videos, mis represented video footage on news casts and doctored ad shots in commercials. Let's call attention to commercial distortions, eh?

What sounds influence your work? I work to baroque music but I like ambient and jazz as well.

What makes you decide to create your work? The desire to reconfigure the world to my eyes and the need to share that revision of things.

Where do your talents lie? Photoshop, speed, organization and tireless effort....last man standing

What successes have you had so far? Not bad,a good career as an instructor, a few pubs...I'm still learning...give me some time to reach a few more audiences.....

What was the first creative thing that you ever did? Play Rumplestiltskin at 6

Has anyone taught you how to use your talent better? Yes great profs at Tulane, Oxy, UVA, MTSU and ETSU, and my colleagues are a continual inspiration, jim, barry, bill, joni, lacey...it helps to have creative pals...

What makes you creative? Chocolate

How did you get started? Just like to keep busy

What inspires you? The beatles, the stones, vangelis, bach

What do you do when you are suffering from creative block? Work harder

What are you trying to achieve? Better communication

Do you collaborate? Yes and it recharges me....thank goodness for my students...how boring not to have people to learn from....

What’s the most amazing thing you’ve ever seen / heard / experienced? Grand canyon, rock group yes, jurassic park, pride and prejudice, day the earth stood still...movies are a great way to see the world....england was swell, outer banks, NC, UVA, montecello, vermont in winter, phoenix anytime....

What do you consider to be the most important thing in life? The people we can encounter and help...the earth and its inhabitants we can save...god bless Al Gore and the Dali Lama and Einstein.....we need more heroes like that don't we?

Who/what is your nemesis and why? Sloth and creative inertia....the world requires a lot of positive work and energy....
