What themes run throughout your work? A variety. My Illustrations cover and reflect articles, texts, meanings, words, situations, characters, human behaviour and many more. The images usually are related to news, music, current affairs, environmental issues and other aspects/matters of everyday life.
What sounds influence your work? Genres of contemporary music mostly, electronic, jazz, alternative, a lot of experimental, dub and many many more, I love exploring any artists that are being true to their art and sounds.Also, the most important sounds are those of nature, the rain, the waves and sound of leafs 'dancing' rhythmically with the change of the wind.
What makes you decide to create your work? I have constant motivation to create something new, to reach a new vision and take up a new challenge. I carry my sketchbook everywhere. It comes as a need usually to draw something and then base my ideas on those sketches.
What was the first creative thing that you ever did? I remember spending hours scribbling on papers and other surfaces from an early age.
Artist Statement: I am a freelance Illustrator and I live in London. I work on conceptual/editorial/book illustration. I am inspired by nature, magazine articles, contemporary music of different genres, old myths and everyday things that ‘ignite’ visual interpretations. My work communicates a variety of themes and aspects of life as the ‘lens’ of my mind captures and interprets them. I have recently obtained an MA degree in Visual Arts/Illustration at Camberwell College of Arts and have participated in a variety of published projects and exhibitions.
