Christine Stoddard

What themes run throughout your work? Romance, nature, fantasy, spirituality, and the chaos of dreams---at broad as those themes may be.

How do you hope your work will affect its audience? I hope that my audience will become more inquisitive and even more sensitive upon viewing my work.

What makes you decide to create your work? Any thought really. I am constantly creating so it doesn't take much to inspire me.

Where do your talents lie? My creativity and my curiosity are by far my greatest gifts. Too bad I'm so lacking in my mathematical abilities!

What successes have you had so far? At age 19, I have already had an exclusive interview with First Lady Laura Bush, had writing lessons from the Washington Post, interned with the Smithsonian American Art museum, won a scholarship from USA Today, and have had my byline featured in numerous publications, both online and in print.

What are you trying to achieve? I want to create something iconic, something that audiences from across the globe can identify with and will remember for at least a couple generations.

Do you collaborate? I now work with many other artists on a regular basis, including John Zhao, Tim Ashworth, Anne Schermerhorn, Greg Butterfield and others.

What’s the most amazing thing you’ve ever seen / heard / experienced? Falling in love has been my most amazing experience.

What do you consider to be the most important thing in life? Laughter.
