40"x30" acrylic on canvas, September 2009. The first of a series of night-time views of my local town, Athy, Co.Kildare. This painting shows the night of the homecoming celebration for the 2009 Rose of Tralee. The night-time seems to offer scope to really let rip with colours! :-)
