What themes run throughout your work? Rock music, love, loss, joy, pain, light and dark, happiness and sadness, fun
How do you hope your work will affect its audience? Hopefully our work will connect with an audience on some emotional level or other, and perhaps enough so for them to look forwards to our future songs.
What sounds influence your work? We’re broadly influenced, all coming from different musical backgrounds and tastes, but broadly within the guitar based rock/metal/punk region.
Where do your talents lie? We all have an ear for a good, or interesting riff or melody.
What successes have you had so far? A few battle of the bands successes, and some recognition in various online music communities
Has anyone taught you how to use your talent better? We are learning all the time; from other bands, both signed and unsigned, and from those who have recorded/produced our music. Fan feedback is also very welcome.
What makes you creative? A desire to express ourselves in a unique way through the medium of music.
How did you get started? The band met at Lancaster University in 2004, and quickly became friends, before ultimately experimenting in a band environment.
What are you trying to achieve? If one person somewhere likes, or connects to our music, we can ask for no more.
Ignoring money and all of life’s woes, what would you want to be? Writing, recording, and playing music for a living, and preferably quite successful and recognised for doing so.
Artist Statement: Ampfire are a 4 piece rock band from the North of England who simply want the opportunity to have their music exposed to as wide an audience as possible. Whether live or on record, Ampfire try to create a broad sound which can toy with classic and modern influences, whilst produce something unique and unheard elsewhere. Driven by a belief that ultimately music must be enjoyable, fun and unique, without being different for the sake of being different, the band basically enjoy performing and creating music, and hope others will take the time to listen, and perhaps appreciate and enjoy what they hear. Feedback and constructive criticism are always welcome.
